The summer is here. Sunshine has poured out of the sky just as readily as the rainfall so far, scorching our skin, zapping our motivation to work and increasing our capacity to guzzle cider in beer gardens across the land. It's a point where people purchase festival tickets and pray for a lack of rain, book their holidays to sun kissed destinations and generally skip about with a greater sense of optimism. Or, at the very least, enjoy moaning about things more than they do during the winter.
There is one place that always crops up at this point; Ibiza - The place of dreams. As an island it is constantly wrote off as losing it yet manages to be inundated each and very year with fresh blood and old stalwarts alike. The hedonists paradise, it's versatile enough to offer real tranquillity amongst the glaring madness, beauty amongst the garish party, and above all, salubrious fun of the highest order.
One place that surmises this charm is Bora Bora, the free party institution upon Playa d'en Bossa beach which regularly showcases the finest DJs across the globe for a glorious concoction of house and electro. A Balearic institution, this is the point where most people embark upon their evening, sashaying to the beats with the sand beneath their toes and indulging in the excesses the island so readily supplies.
Oliver Lang is now the focal point of Bora Bora alongside DJ Gee, ensuring that the sun kissed grooves are plentiful in their supply. Beyond the beach he made his name mixing chunky and funky tribal hosue for the likes of Gatecrasher and Tribal Sessions, before morphing further more into a peak time artist who could cover evry spectrum of dance music and still retain the bumping sensibilities that serve him so well at Bora Bora. He's played for a wealth of the UK's top clubs, notably Dusted, Kissdafunk and Federation and rapidly become a star in his own right. No-one translates the summer in any better shape.
Alongside Oliver are the four tyrants of Plug's party deliverance, LJ Freeman, Peeky, Tom lee and Dan Norris all jostling for space with their respective bags of funk. They'll be ensuring that the ibizan odyssey starts the summer season for Plug in glorious fashion.
