FRED After just returning from New York's 'CMJ Music Marathon' this is what New York had to say: "Upbeat Irish Rock from Ireland served with a smile. Possibly my favorite discovery at CMJ" says The Limewire. Meanwhile over at Page 6 in the New york Post it read's like "That band Fred came over to New York from Ireland last week at showed the other hundred's of band's how to really write & perform cranking song's ...our festival favorites by far".

Fred are a five piece from Cork City, Ireland who take the anguish, angst and pain out of Rock'n'roll, opting instead to just be really good. Some journalists interpret this as 'quirky', but Fred's achievements both live and in their recorded output far exceed any 'quirky' flash in the pan. "Like Sly & The Family Stone in a swordfight with the Flaming Lips, refereed by Brian Wilson" is how national newspaper The Irish Times described Fred.

"SWIMMING sound like a dream, but this is not a soporific state. Like a radio that is tuned into Brian Wilson's head, the melodies are achingly gorgeous, and the guitar textures are evocative. Much like the water that their concept alludes to, there are moments of beauty, and placidity, to be followed by waves of rage, strong currents." karmadownload

RONIKA is a one girl band from nottingham who writes, sings and produces music. After not leaving the house for several years she has recorded an album - All That We Know and hopes that now she might be able to go out into the sunshine without melting. Ronika loves all kinds of music but her album is mostly influenced by 60 s soul, hip hop, pop, funk, jazz and electronica. Ronika is currently working on new disco/soul material with the amazing producer and fellow oven-glove enthusiast Joe Buhdha.

ROBOTNIK Robotnik is Chris Morrin, a boy from Baldoyle, with 27 swings on the merry-go-round. Robotnik is an adventurous Lo-fi concoction of pop, electronic beats and melodic musings on relationships, fantasies and twentysomethingdom. Once you listen to the music, you might be lead to the conclusion that Robotnik happens to be a lovechild of David Byrne, Beck and Yo La Tengo with Brendan Benson and Radiohead acting as midwives. However, we hope you will also consider Robotnik to be an original in his own right. Robotnik's path to the here and now swings by early memories of playing piano with his Aunt Alice, his teen garage band 'The Wesleys' and his sojourn into singer-songwriter territory with 'The Mucky Kid' EP in 2004. "I bought my first laptop back in 2005 and started to get this shit load of free software. That's what prompted me to start pressing buttons and creating my first electronic tracks," explains Robotnik. Welcome on board.
