If you weren't a DJ and producer what do you think you would be doing now?
'racing driver....or a wannabee dj/producer'
You have a new album, 'Defected presents Charles Webster'' just out on Defected Records – albums are huge projects, what was the starting point for putting together the mixes?
'it was surprisingly easy to re-visit my old tracks and do fresh new
mixes of them..and a lot of fun...and the new tracks were pretty easy also, i put them together over a 6 month period in between other projects, so it was pretty relaxed.
Do you have a favourite memory from your early years of Djing?
'the first time i played at m.o.s..i was really nervous but i really
enjoyed it...also a 8 hour set i did in a free warehouse party in
Oakland'
You are playing for the 'Om Friends & Family' event on Saturday 24th May – tell us a little of what we can expect to hear in your set?
' a great selection of warm, deep and dark house music…some nice
vocals and lot’s of exclusive new material'
After playing in many of the world's best venues are you looking forward to playing in a more intimate warehouse space?
' i love playing smaller venues...more more intimate and friendly'
Om Records provide music for both the club and more chilled moments – how do you like to chillout?
' by doing nothing at all...maybe some classical music and a beach !'
And finally, what are your plans for the long, hot summer ahead – here's hoping, of course!
'lot's of studio work....working on 2 new albums...a new CW/Presence album and a jazz album with Peter Wraight....making music for my label Miso...remixing...lot's of travelling for gigs...and a whole month in Japan..and hopefully some relaxing...can't wait!"
