THE BIG DAY HAS COME!
In 2008, Balado Activity Centre will welcome a stellar cast of The Verve, Rage Against the Machine,
REM, Kings of Leon and scores of other musicians and performers at the cutting edge of the music industry from around the planet.
This year, over 180 artists will play across 11 stages, including the world renowned Main Stage and the sensational Radio 1/NME Stage, which celebrates its seventh year as an outdoor stage. The legendary King Tut’s Tent also returns, together with the 8,000 capacity Pet Sounds Arena which debuted in 2006, the Futures Stage and the inimitable Slam Tent.
Big news for Tinthepark Campers…
T in the Park’s inaugural event in 1994 saw just 2,000 weekend revellers camping at the Strathclyde Park site. In 2008, now in its fifteenth year, a staggering 60,000 campers will pitch-up to create Scotland’s 5th largest temporary town and, for the first time ever, organisers are delighted to be able to offer a limited number of T fans the opportunity to camp from Thursday 10th July.
Those who already have or will be purchasing a weekend with camping ticket will be contacted by Ticketmaster in due course to be offered the opportunity to upgrade their ticket to include camping from Thursday.
Friday Gets Bigger…
now also the Radio 1/NME stage
Following Friday’s opening in 2007, festival organisers are again delighted to announce that the Main Arena is back on Friday 11th July. T in the Parkers will enjoy sets from artists on both the Main Stage, and now also the Radio 1/NME stage, which celebrates its fifth year outdoors in 2008. T in the Park reminds fans that only those in possession of a Weekend with Camping Ticket will have access to the festival arena on the evening of Friday 11th July.
T In The Park Ticket and Travel News…
A limited number of tickets for this year’s T in the Park went on sale back in July 2007, just hours after last year’s fantastic event came to a close. T in the Parkers snapped them up in 69 minutes, and demand for the rest of the tickets is expected to be even higher in light of today’s amazing announcements.
New this year, event and bus ticket packages will be available to buy simultaneously from Ticketmaster and those wanting to buy a ticket tomorrow should familiarise themselves with the new packages to save precious time tomorrow morning. The option to purchase a bus ticket along with the event ticket will be available to those purchasing Weekend, and Weekend with Camping tickets. There are four bus zones available to choose from; visit www.citylink.co.uk for further information. T in the Parkers are reminded that Thursday Camping tickets will NOT go on-sale tomorrow.
