Description
Since leaving his Underworld days behind, Darren Emerson has been busy turning Underwater into one of the most successful dance imprints in the UK. Now on its 75th release, the next instalment from the label will be the Greetings EP on June 19th from John Dahlback and David Eckenbeck under their ‘Beckster’ moniker. A new Underwater compilation series ‘Solo’ also begins next month, with the first edition mixed by Deepgroove. Darren, who is currently working on a full length artist album, will be headlining the main room with his distinctive style of driving house.
Underwater, Darren Emerson's bi-monthly residency at The End, is one of the biggest nights around.
With resident Darren Emerson at the helm, each Underwater party is a celebration of the fiercest underground house, with diverse line ups and live performances. Underwater is often a showcase for new releases and acts on Darren's label of the same name, set up in 2000. But it's always a blinding night out!
Darren is direct about the success of the night. "We do these Underwater parties. We do them monthly and it's one of the best parties going in the UK at the moment ". When it comes to the music, it's clear this is what's important. Says Darren, "I always play music that I like. I don't want to play music that I don't like, otherwise you wouldn't feel it. I'm very open. I like different styles of music." From the hip hop, soul, electro and early house that Darren loved when he first got into DJing, to the storming house and techno sounds he has masterminded throughout his career, all come bubbling through at Underwater.
With a stellar cast backing up the Darren each time, the Underwater party bursts out of the main room into the lounge and AKA, and the crowd swells into every room of the club. Underwater is rammed every time with regular faces who know they're in for the time of their lives, plus new party-goers who've found out what it's all about. Join them for Underwater at The End.
