THE FUTURE IS SOLID:-

At the beginning of the year we SMARTIE PARTIE found ourselves at a Crossroads in Clubland, because of the closure of so many Clubs (Cross/Canvas/Key) and of course the best of them all the brilliant & legendary Turnmills, which had been our home for 5yrs.

When we were told many months in advance of our home's closure, we had to put all our 13yrs experience into good practice & find the perfect venue for our crowd (the best crowd in London). We knew in late 2007 that many promoters would soon be wiped out and clubland (in london) would change forever. So we searched for a venue for our monthly night. It is true that for the last 10yrs we had been in the relative comfort zone of two great super clubs (Ministry & Turnmills), where we had proved our worth month after month, setting record numbers at both clubs. A record that now can never be taken from us.

Every club in London is aware of the past success of SMARTIE PARTIE, so when looking for our new monthly home, we were lucky enough to be offered plenty of good clubs. But we finally choose Scala, which was no doubt a bold move, as its a huge blank canvas with absolutely no 'walk-up'. We could of surrounded ourselves with one of the more popular commercial clubs that has its own following, but none of them was right for what we wanted to do.

On Saturday 5th April (our trial date at Scala to see if we liked the venue), we made the most of the venue's vast open space, we went to town with our production & create an atmosphere similar to what you'd find in Ibiza. The event was a huge success & we definitely accomplished everything we set out to do. We even had high praise from head-linner Mr C (man who owns the End), who was blown away by the sound-system & the totally up for it crowd (you lot).

So we had found our new home and come Saturday 12th July, we launch our monthly residency (2nd Saturday of each month), where we promise to entertain you with amazing themed production, visual, new & exciting Djs, live artists, dancers and more.

Trains Scala is a 2 minute walk from Kings Cross St Pancras Rail Station. Turn left out of the station and on to Pentonville Road. Scala is also adjacent to the Thameslink station on Pentonville Road. Turn left out of this station.

Underground Scala is a 2 minute walk from Kings Cross Underground Station. Underground lines at this station include Piccadilly, Northern, Victoria, Hammersmith & City, Metropolitan and Circle lines.

Buses Buses that run along Pentonville Road include 30, 73, 214. Additional buses that stop at Kings Cross Station include 10, 17, 45, 46, 63, 91, 259.

Cash points We have a cash point inside Scala situated outside the Foyer bar and there are several cash points at Thameslink station adjacent to Scala. Turn right out of the Scala entrance.

Safety Please take care when leaving the venue especially if you are on your own. Scala security staff are happy to escort you to a taxi.
