Parklife 2008 Saturday 13th September 2008 All Day Festival, 12pm-10pm at Strathclyde Country Park Motherwell Scotland (Next to Watersports Centre) £25 Earlybird Tickets Here - Standard £35 (All prices exclude booking fee) Over 40 DJs, 5 Arenas, 10hours!!
Are you a big festival fan? What is your ultimate festival item you cant do without? Mobile phone is an obvious one, but to be a bit more creative I'd say a video camera - I love my festivals and it's the best place to see my fave artists and going home and watching Prodigy projected on to my hedge the day after I'd seen them at GCSSS was orgasmic!
What else have you been up to this summer? I've just had a weeks holiday in Ibiza which was pretty chilled and much needed, on top of that I've been playing festivals and UK gigs and promoting Kiddstock which is set to be the event of the summer; next to Parklife of course - check www.kiddstock.com for more details. So apart from that, any spare time is spent in the studio; make sure you check out the Kiddstock Theme tune which is rocking the arena's right now!
What can people expect from your set in GG arena? I love playing in Goodgreef arena's because everyone knows they are my family within this scene and there is no pressure on what to play - it's all about having one big fuckin' party and letting loose. To be fair every time I have played in a multi arena event in Scotland, the hard arena has always been rammed to the rafters so for Goodgreef to be hosting it I'm pretty sure they will pull out all the stops in making it a special event on the night. My set is back to back with Kutski and our last sets together were on the Australia Q-Dance tour - we played b2b in Sydney and Melbourne and both shows were rocking so it will be good to do it again. We have also been planning on working on this idea for a track together and we have it planned for after Kiddstock and before Parklife. Normally these plans get moved about regularly but I aim to stick to this studio date and have a stonking new exclusive release for us to drop in our set. Exciting times. Touch the lasers.
What other DJs are you looking forward to see at Parklife? Showtek because I still haven't seen them play and I've been caining their tracks for years. I'm also looking forward to seeing the Clubland arena. Right up my street.
Have you heard or witnessed the Scottish crowd? Yeah course, Inside Out, Couloursfest, Rectify, Rezerection - all these places go nuts when ever I've played and this puts the Scottish up there as my fave crowd to play too, alongside the Irish and the Ozzies!
Have you got any festival stories that you have heard of or funny things happened to you? I came out of Westfest last year and stupidly let my mate Shak drive my car to the next gig. He decided to try a shortcut and beat the traffic queues to get out of the site. A quick left turn in the pitch black and we should be able to cut out the long line around the perimeter of the site and drive across the field. The reason everyone was queuing up around the sides and not darting across the fields was because there was an 10 foot deep ditch about 1 foot wide around the perimeter. So basically my poor golf did a nose dive and ended up down the ditch... then came all the Scousers who started jumping on my car to try and bounce it out the ditch, followed by the organ donors who spent the next 2 hours laughing at me and my car as the towing truck fails to rescue it. Shortly after came the fans who wanted pictures stood next to me and my car in the ditch that I saw all over DSI the following week. Funny now but I was devo'd at the time!
