Description
Main Hall: 93 Live: Olympus Mons Album Launch Party
Olympus Mons + Guardians Of The Ancient Wisdom + The Scuzzies + Art Terry
At first glance you could be forgiven for assuming that OLYMPUS MONS are on surface just another band like all others but then it doesn't take a trained eye or more importantly, a finely trained ear to pick out that this is not your average continuation of the rule it is the defiant exception.
Not different enough to be un-place-able, but not adhering enough to drown in the vast sea of 'that sounds like the last band' their unique sound fuses a cross section of genres such as Indie, Rock and Roots, then voices it with subtle jazz chords and progressions finally roofed in by the sometimes desperate, sometimes dramatic and always genuine voice of the lead vocalist. Their strength is in the sound, the performance, the songs and the honesty. Welcome to the land of Mons!
Based in west London, GUARDIANS OF THE ANCIENT WISDOM are a duality obsessed hip hop punk crew comprised of danDNA, Madam Blahvatski aka Leah Sublime, Mr Frendo, Wayne Pennell and Stan Gooch.
THE SCUZZIES The Skuzzies live sets are antagonistic and exciting whilst their gritty songs of street life and experience are both unique and universal. As their audience would agree, The Skuzzies are as real as they come.
ART TERRY drops his jazz scales for some 'Afro-baroque cerebral soul', which is said to suggest 'Marvin Gaye joining Velvet Underground.'
