Description
Saturday 15th April will see North London come to a stand still as the
mighty Canvas pulls out all the stops to stage one of their biggest events
to date. The elusive and hugely popular Radio Soulwax are heading into town
to close their extensive international tour with the ultimate Warehouse
party @ Canvas.
On Easter Saturday Belgian brothers David and Stephen Dewaele, better known
as Soulwax or their DJ moniker 2many DJ’s, will be bringing their now
legendary blend of 21st Century electro infused rock and roll to your
weekend. Soulwax came to prominence with their critically and highly
acclaimed album ‘Much Against Everyone’s Advice’. >From sell out shows at
Brixton Academy supporting LCD to the underground depths of Trash at The
End, Soulwax have captured the minds and feet of a generation with their
unique energy and leftfield twist.
It was in 1999 that their moniker ‘2many DJ’s’ was born. Derived from their
Belgian radio show ‘Hang the DJ’ the duo began making their own edits for
use on the show years before the wave of Bootlegs swept through the music
industry. They soon made the journey over to London where through key sets
at Fabric and Trash, mixes on XFM and memorable sets at Glastonbury, they
soon developed a dedicated and discerning fan base.
Capturing the roots and energy of London’s thriving electro scene Soulwax,
along with their über cool disciples, have created some of the best parties
in London. And this Easter they will present the newest chapter in the
Soulwax evolution: RADIO SOULWAX; an amalgamation of 2many DJ’s and Soulwax
to not only appear at the party but to MAKE the party. Appealing to fans of
the band and fans of the DJ’s, Radio Soulwax delivers the best of both
worlds at this mammoth mini festival to mark the end of their tour. Joined
by such luminaries as Tiga and Headman the scene is set for chaos at Canvas
